I' am so proud of Optimum Triple Play for taking a stand against racism in Latino television. Ever since I was a little girl, Latinos with a darker completion have been absent from Latino television. Roles are minimum or very degrading. Since I understood this concept, I always knew that I would never waste my time auditioning for Latino television. From being a servant to sleeping with the slave master is the only way a dark skin Latino like myself, can get a role on Latino television. Even in 2009, Latino television has not gotten with the program and have not changed their dimension of thinking.
In Optimum Triple Play's latest commercial, one of the main dancers is a beautiful brown skin Latina. She is vibrant, charismatic, and a very talented dancer. The dancer wears her hair in braids which is a plus. I am proud of this young lady. Although, I am talking about a commercial, This is a small step towards moving forward in Latino television where we can see multiple colors and shapes of Latinos. Optimum Triple Play commercial can be seen on all Latino channels. such as 41 and 47.

Excellent commercial! You're right about the limited roles for Afro-Latinos. It's a shame that in this new millennium, things change so slowly.
